Its just not an internal issue of Sheba Group. We don’t need to know how Sheba is run. But when it comes to the mosque related issue we should know about it. Sheba and mosque are not the same organisation. Sheba donated the land for the moseque. Mr Nazrul and Mr Shahajahan told in many meetings in the mosque about this donation of land. I didn’t think this mosque is a personal property. Many of our community pray in this mosque. So we want to know who is doing politics. But I agree that some of you may not want to know about it.
Regards,
Rashed.

Sorry I couldn’t resist myself getting involved here. Some prefer to keep quiet, some prefer to speak up. In this case, I am from the later group.
Firstly, I don’t support this idea of posting this sort of email in a public forum. As far as I know Shahajahan bhai, I believe there has been a misunderstanding and Sheba Group should have solved it without disclosing it in a public forum.
Secondly, our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is not here but we have his directions compiled in Hadith Sharif. Imams are the leaders of Muslim community. It is never an outdated system. Whether we can follow it or not, that’s our problem. Surely, we need a committee to appoint Imams. We have to abide by the laws of the country as well
I apologize if someone finds my email hurting.

Dear FarukAlthough I appreciate your intention but pls try to be realistic. We live in 21st century and in Australia. The notion of ‘supreme authority’ is not only dangerous but very outdated and has to be ditched straightaway! And when you try to appoint an Imam for a mosque (not for a community), how do you that? We don’t have prophets anymore, so I guess the standard process to be followed – develop a position description, advertise the position, do the interviews and appoint someone. My point is, whatever we try to do here as an individual/group or as a community, we must abide by the law of the land to stay out of any trouble.Sheba Group is owned by few individuals (not a community initiative). Whatever issues they are facing now, are entirely their problem and hopefully they will be able to resolve them quickly but these shouldn’t impact the community/community harmony at all.RegardsSabbirFrom: perthbashi@yahoogroups.com” id=”yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1491319398211_5163″>perthbashi@yahoogroups.com [mailto:perthbashi@yahoogroups.com“>perthbashi@yahoogroups .com] On Behalf Of Faruk Ahmed faruk.perth@gmail.com“>faruk.perth@gmail.com [perthbashi]

Subject: Re: [perthbashi] Sheba Group WA and Masjid Al Falah, Wattle GroveDear Brother Dr Akim,One unrelated thing to share – when it’s about a mosque, please refrain from all those flashy titles – president/ chairman/ directors etc. – even though you mentioned Sheba Group. The Imam is the supreme authority of a mosque that is what we have learnt from our Prophet (BPUH), Abu Bakar, Omar, Uthman (May Allah Be Pleased with Them). They were the Imaam and supreme authority of the mosque and community. If you build a mosque – follow what our Prophet (BPUH) left for us, not those English flashy titles. We don’t need to be super scholar to understand this simple thing.Regards,Faruk Ahmed

Occasionally you may have received some emails from Mr. Shahajahan Miyan, which sometimes contains incorrect information. Internally, within Sheba Group WA, we have pointed out those misleading information and had requested corrections. I hereby take this opportunity to disseminate some corrections to some misleading information sent through Perthbashi:
- Sheba Group WA Pty Ltd (registered on 27 May 2014) has eight shareholders, who are also the directors of the company. The company is headed by a Chairman. On 21 March 2017, Sheba’s then Chairman Mr. Shahajahan Miyan has submitted his intention (to the Board of Directors) to resign and exit Sheba. He had given up his Chairman position and the responsibility was handed over to Dr. Md. Amanullah and Mr. Matiur Rahman (ex. Adelaide resident; now in Dhaka).
- We (Sheba Group) had bought 3 hectares (~30,000m2) of land in Wattle Grove (25, 27 & 29 Lewis Road). Subsequently we have donated an area of 3,955m2 of vacant land (rear part of 29 Lewis Road) to build a Mosque, now named Masjid Al Falah. Currently, SHEBA has allowed one of its existing buildings on that property to use as a temporary Musallah for daily prayers and Friday Jummah Prayers. A non-profit organisation named Al Falah Muslim Association Inc. (AFMA) has been formed to run the activities of Masjid Al Falah. AFMA has a management committee, referred to hereinafter as MC.
- Section 6.d.i. of our Sheba constitution addendum states, “The Al-Falah Muslim Association management committee (MC) and its constitution are to be Sheba approved. The President and the Secretary are to be elected by Sheba board of directors (BOD). In late 2016, we (Sheba) have approved a Masjid Management Committee (MC), however we have not elected a President yet. This means, there is no elected President of the MC. I am not sure how anyone can claim to be the President publicly and officially, which is misleading and totally unauthorized.
- Also, the background of the formation of ‘Sheba’ has been wrongly communicated. The dream of establishing a mosque in Wattle Grove was initiated by some local Muslim brothers by starting the daily congregational prayer and weekly Quran lesson program at one of the brother’s garage in Wattle Grove.
i. One of the above mentioned brothers had identified these 3 lots of land for sale in early 2013, which was advertised in Perthbashi. There were no buyers for these lots for a few of months.ii. At the end three of us, who were working away from Perth at that time, had decided to take a major stake of this project to build a Masjid-oriented community on Lewis Road. Five other partners, working in Perth at that time, joined us and the proposal of our offer was taken to the Shire of Kalamunda, which eventually led to the purchase of these lots.
- At this moment we have various moral, ethical and legal issues within Sheba Group. We have to overcome those issues and make Sheba and AL FALAH MUSLIM ASSOCIATION INC upright and just organizations. The Masjid Management Committee and Sheba should abide by all code of conducts, rules & regulations and should remain clean and truthful.
