Good morning Dr Mohammed Shahid
My name is Lani and I am from Homeward Assisted Returns. I am contacting the Bangladesh Australia Association of Western Australia as I understand that the organisation is committed to the welfare of Bangladeshi people in Western Australia. I would like to offer some information about the Homeward program in case it may be of interest to people who contact yourselves for assistance to return to Bangladesh.
Homeward provides free assistance to non-Australian citizens who wish to voluntarily return to their home countries. We find that people contact Homeward for various reasons, such as:
- Their personal or family circumstances have changed since arriving in Australia
- They need medical or social escort for physical or mental health issues
- Their visa or travel documents have expired or are expiring soon
- They have unstable housing or are homeless
- They are missing family and country
- They cannot afford costs of returning
Homeward’s assistance includes:
- Pre-return counselling and planning
- Arranging and facilitating travel, including assistance with travel documents, flight bookings, and more
- Reception assistance, to ensure people are connected with family/friends on their return
Homeward offers its services Australia-wide and is a service provider to the Department of Home Affairs. I have attached some introductory information and would be pleased to provide further information if you or other staff members wish. You are welcome to contact us by email or telephone as below.
Thank you kindly.
Kind regards
Lani East
