I think it is time for you to step in and lock this thread. I am shocked to see the debate is still continuing and people thinking it is acceptable to attack other’s religion and beliefs in order to express their views.

I apologise to Samar da and everyone else who has been offended and be assured that I feel very disturbed.

What is interesting is that mongol shobha jatra has been a part of boishakh celebration in Perth for last four years. Why question it now? And which Bangladesh are we talking about here? UNESCO has recognised mongol Shobhajatra as a part of our Bengali heritage. In Bangladesh every person has the right to practice their religion and culture and I am proud to be a Bengali because of our rich heritage and culture. I think this debate is pointless and it is upsetting a lot of people.

This forum is Bangladesh association of Western Australia which I believe still stands for secularity and respect for all. If this sort of thread continues I am afraid I will report such posts to yahoo group coordinator to alert them of the attacking views and intolerance expressed here.

Lastly the way to stand against extremism has always been through solidarity. Let’s all stand strong and unite against hatred and extremism and stand for peace and cooperation

It really surprising and at the same time painful when the response of very fundamental issues of Muslim Belief triggered in such a way by anothern Muslim Brother. Do some people of Muslim ccomminitu think that after mogration in Auatralia they are outside the Kingdom of Almighty Allah. Just a simple message one of the community member forwarded that being a Muslim how the Mongol Shova Jatra and some wordings on pohela baishak song contradict with the Fundamental belief of Islam and so many Muslim brother reacted in such a way that indicates that our future generation in Australia will get out of the Islam just like any thing!  We understand harmony, we understand matual peace but it does not indicate that one should compromise with infiltration of Shirk in wider scale in the name of Bengali culture. Please again I request those brothers to ask any of the Islamic Scholar how the Shirk injected in such type of events. The purpose of this wake up call is to save you from the hell fire nothing more or less. For non- muslim brother as they follow, no one blame them.
