I hope you are doing well.
BAAWA organised a Banglar Mela on 18.3.2023. which was wholeheartedly supported by the community by their presence and participations.
I would like to thank all the attendees, participants and the organiser.
I would like to thank all our invited guests who were; chief guest Mr Yaz Mubarakai, MLA for Jandakot as a representative of the Minister for Citizenship and Multicultural Interest Dr Tony Buti, MLA, special guests Dr Jags Krishnan MLA for Riverton, Mr Terry Healey, MLA for Southern River, Mayor Patrick Hall, City of Canning, President of ISWA, President of NAWA and other distinguished guest of Banglar Mela 2023.
The biggest thanks goes to the BAAWA team for putting up the enjoyable event. I would like to especially mention Secretary BAAWA Abu Saeed and Cultural Secretary Swarna Afsar for their tireless effort for the Mela. The other EC members Dr Saumitra Seal, Dr Mohammed Rafiqul Alam Babu, Chai Prue, Kaisur Rahman Razin, Majedul Islam, Nusrat Zarin Lima, HM Jubide Khan Sumon, Kazi Shahid Kaushik, Kifayat Islam Mozumder, and Dr MSN Shahid Rajoo also contributed equally.
Tasnimul Galib Amit and Nafisa Akhter Chowdhury deserve a big thanks for their sound coordination.
There were three competitive events: dress as you like, adult Bangla handwriting and childrens drawing. I would like to thank the judges Mr Shahjahan Miah, Dr Mahbub Talukdar Mannu, Dr Ruhul Salim, Mrs Laboni Omar, Mrs Tahmina Akhter and Mr Shabbir Hussain.
I would also like to thank our platinum sponsors Lotterywest, City Of Canning, KI Health Services, silver sponsor Ausbangla Enterprise, bronze sponsors RnZ Fashion and Suncorp Bank. I hope they will support BAAWA in future as well.
The smooth running of the event was possible with the help of a team of volunteers.
