Dear Perthbashi,
On behalf of BAAWA, I would like to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to all of you who attended and participated in this year’s International Mother Language Day Cultural Program.
More than 250 people observed Shahid Dibosh at the Cockburn Youth Centre on Saturday, 20th February where our hardworking and dedicated cultural team, led by Cultural Secretary Dr. Tanmoy Debnath, produced a beautiful cultural display. I would like to thank each and every member of the Cultural Team as well as the hardworking volunteers from BAAWA EC and outside the EC who helped us organize this event. Thanks to all the participants and coordinators who worked really hard for weeks to prepare their performances. Thanks to the debaters and their mentors for their time and effort and last but not the least, thanks to all the parents and families of the performers and participants for their selfless support.
We were very fortunate to have Prof Amit Chakma, Vice Chancellor of UWA as our Chief Guest, and Mr. Terry Healy MLA, Member for Southern River as our Special Guest for the event. We also greatly appreciate the presence of community leaders and representatives from ISWA, NAWA, WAMA and Hindi Samaj WA.
