Hope you’re having a great day. This is Subah and Megha from the Shamahar Editorial Team! We’re writing to you today in hopes of proposing an exciting initiative that we would love to make happen again – yes, we want to bring back BAAWA's literary magazine – Shamahar!
The magazine will most likely be distributed digitally so that we can all enjoy the fruitions of our work. We would like to collect a large spectrum of work, whatever you would like to display in our magazine. We’d like to keep the theme based around our culture and heritage but tied with the experiences that we’ve had living in Perth and around the world. There’s no limit to age or level of talent, any and everything is welcome!
To give you an idea of the type of things you can submit:
– Art
– Stories / Poems / Words
– Photography
– Fashion
– Food recipes (with a photo and a link to your video)
– Cultural
– Literature
– Music / Film
– History
To submit your work please email it to shamahar@baawa.org.au by 30th November 2020 with:
– Your name
– Your email
– Your phone number (optional)
– Your website or social media (optional)
– An attachment of your work (doc, pdf – for literature, jpg or png for artwork)
Please feel free to go out of the box and submit whatever you would like to, it’s completely up to you as long as it sticks to the general theme. We’re looking forward to seeing all the submissions by 30th November 2020. This will give us enough time to launch our Victory Day 2020 Shamahar edition just in time.
