Greetings to all.
As we, as a family, try to come to terms with the loss of our dear son and brother, Muktafe Reza Khan, I wanted to take a moment to write this note and extend our truest heartfelt gratitude to each member of the Bengali Community and the Muslim Community in Perth, who have demonstrated invaluable support and kindness towards my son and our family. Indeed, no words can do justice in explaining how grateful my family is to you for helping with Muktafe’s janaza and burial, that too in such beautiful way. Despite not knowing my son personally, you have come forward in our most unfortunate time of need and completed the duty of his burial on my family’s behalf, by which, you have allowed us the only bit of peace since we heard the heart-breaking news of my son’s passing.
We are still waiting to receive my son’s official death certificate as the coroner’s office is working to confirm his cause of death still, which in itself has caused us immense stress among the heartbreak. However, our relative Mr. Mohammad Mesbahul Karim (you might have met him at the burial) is acting as our liaison in such matters, as well as managing Muktafe’s financial matters. I truly hope we get to complete the required processes shortly and get some closer, which perhaps will allow us to grieve in peace.
To you, all I can say is thank you. And I can pray that Allah rewards you in hundred-folds for your good deeds, both in this world and in Akhirah. And that He is merciful to you and your family in the days to come. I wish you all a healthy, joyful and meaningful life ahead. Please keep my son in your prayers.
Many thanks and best wishes,
A Y Rezaul Amin Khan
Father of Muktafe Reza Khan (deceased)

On behalf of BAAWA I had a conversation over the phone with Rezaul Amin, father of the deceased Muktafe Reza Khan. On the highest point our beloved community member Motiur Rahman Bhai has regular ongoing contact with the deceased family in Bangladesh. As many community members have queries on this matter, please see below update
1. Funeral – Deceased family has given the authority to Motiur Rahman bhai to complete the burial process. Motiur Rahman bhai already organised the funeral services. Once the corpse gets discharged from Coroners at Mortuary, Janazah Prayer will be scheduled and highly likely the dead body will be buried at Gilford Muslim Cemetery. We will update the Janaza Prayer time and requesting you all to attend at Prayer and make doa for him. May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus.
With respect the family has repudiated the financial assistance from the community and confirmed that they will bear all the funeral costs. Motiur Rahman bhai has taken all the responsibilities of this procedure. May Allah bless him.
2. Deceased estate – deceased family has given authority to one of his cousins who resides in Melbourne to liaise with the Bank and Superannuation Services.
To those who read this message for the first time please see below message from Motiur Rahman bhai forwarded by Rajoo bhai for details.
Thanks

Name: Muktafe Reza Khan, Rinku (41yrs unmarried),Police collected the dead body from his bedroom at East Victoria Park on 17th Dec 2022, now in the custody of Coroners at Mortuary, Nedlands. Police thinking of normal death but waiting for the medical report. The deceased last contacted his family on 28 Nov, and last working day was 15 Nov (Compass Group), house share mates contacted the police on 17 Dec.The deceased left elderly parents, father: AY Rezaul Amin Khan, retired engineer, lives at Banani originally from Mirsharai, Chittagong and only sister lives in UK, returned to Dhaka today. The family requested for Janazah and burial in Perth, no need financial help for the funeral.
A few brothers/I went to the deceased house several times, unfortunately, none was there, tried best to find someone who knows him to pass on some information as the family wanted but have not got anyone who knows him. May Allah forgive and guide us.
The sad part, getting the body is delayed due to the long list of corpses and Christmas, if you have any idea/link to expedite the process will be great. May Allah forgive him, give him Jannatul ala and give sabreen jamil to the family.
