As you all know, BAAWA's celebration of International Mother Language Day (IMLD) is now only a sleep away!
On behalf of BAAWA, I would like to invite you all to attend the cultural program বাংলা আমার গর্ব (Bangla Amar Gorbo) to commemorate শহীদ দিবস (Shaheed Dibosh) and celebrate International Mother Language Day (IMLD) on 22nd February at Melville Civic Centre. Representative for Hon. Minister Paul Papalia CSC MLA, Hon. Pierre Yang MLC, Member for South Metropolitan and representatives of other community groups of WA have kindly agreed to attend the event.
Date: Saturday, 22 February 2020
Venue: Melville Civic Centre, 10 Almondbury Rd, Booragoon
Schedule of the program:
Gate & Book-fair opens 7:00 PM
Program starts 7:30 PM
Tea break: 8:30 – 9:00 PM
Program ends: 9:45 PM
The program will include performances form Bangladeshi community and wider WA multicultural communities and the very popular IMLD Debate.
Debate topic: For children born to migrant parents, mother language can be best taught in institutions than at home.
On this occasion, we would also like to invite all our writers to showcase their publication at this event. We have designated an area in the foyer for this mini book-fair ( বইমেলা ) and may I request all writers to kindly arrive by 6:30 PM to set up their book stalls.
