Thank you Graham for your kind words. We also strongly denounce all sorts of hate crimes and extremist acts which only lead to death, misery and disaster. Our thoughts and prayers are for those who lost their lives, wounded and traumatised. And we still believe good sense will prevail and people will get united to bring love and compassion in their hearts.

Subject: [BAAWA Members] Christchurch Murders
To all members of the Bangladeshi community who knew any of the victims of the terrorist hate crime in New Zealand or who have a sense of trauma because of the nature of this violence you are in my thoughts at this time. I hope you can find strength in your faith, family and friends. We should not allow these extremists to define our reactions. I am very proud of each of you and your community leaders who show by your lives how very, very wrong the hateful ultra- nationalists are. Once again my heartfelt sympathies.
