Fellow Community Members,
Greetings!
Thank you for your continuous support and involvement with BAAWA and its activities. It’s a great pleasure to be able to serve this amazing Bangladeshi community in Perth as an office bearer for BAAWA EC 2019-20.
BAAWA is 37 years old this year, and it has grown over time, and it will continue to grow with all of your active involvement. We, the current office bearers, will try our best to engage with every one of you, just like the previous executive committees. We want to reach you; we want to listen and learn; we want to know how we can serve you better.
As our President Dr. Rajoo bhai wrote in his message – we welcome the presence of other associations in the community as they are doing their part in catering for specific needs, targeting specific demography within the community. Our aim is to work with them, and with all of you to maintain harmony within the community.
Very soon, we will prepare a few surveys to collect information, analyse and understand the needs and expectation of our growing community. On this note, if you have any suggestions/questions that can/should be added to the survey, please feel free to contact me directly via email.
Plans are in place to make BAAWA Membership more appealing and your money’s worth. We are also working on ideas to help us grow in the wider Western Australian society.
But the matter of fact is – we are only a team of 19, serving a community of 2578+ people (according to this article – https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/mca/files/2016-cis-bangladesh.PDF). It’s not an easy task for a community organization that is run by a group of volunteers to comprehend, understand and fulfil all the needs of the community. But it is possible; and it is only possible when all of us work together. Differences of opinion, ideas and ideologies will be there, but we have to understand that our strength is in the diversity of thoughts and opinions. We must learn to stay together and maintain communal harmony. And I am positive, we will continue to do so, with all of your active participation.
On this occasion, I would like to introduce the BAAWA EC 2019-20 to all of you. We are your representatives, and we would like to connect with you all. If you know any one of us – then that’s a brilliant start – get in touch, ask questions, get involved and let’s work together to serve the community better and make it stronger.
Best wishes,
Tasneemul Galib (Amit)
General Secretary, BAAWA Inc.
