Dear Community Members,
I hope this email finds you in the best of your health and spirits.
As per previous email from BAAWA Cultural Secretary Swarna Afsar you might be aware that BAAWA is going to organise Bangladesh Fair on 26 March 2022 at Civic Park Stage and Amphitheatre, Cannington (same venue as last year), which is also Independence Day of our beloved Bangladesh.
Based on the health advice Government of WA, from Monday, January 31, proof of vaccination requirements will apply State-wide and be expanded to include new higher-risk venues and double dose proof of vaccination for those aged 16 and older will be required for:
· Music festivals and large events with more than 500 people, unless exempt. (Bangladesh Fair falls under this category).
For more information Visit https://www.mediastatements.wa.gov.au/Pages/McGowan/2022/01/Proof-of-vaccination-to-be-expanded-State-wide-from-January-31.aspx?fbclid=IwAR0WCXM_tyGF9sByCmunBy6HdgXrN1OlLzH2d-590TiTMV1mMF4PCvwzxx0
Regarding Bangladesh Fair I have been communicating with City of Canning, and they would like to make sure all volunteers, participants and patrons (for those aged 16 and older) of Bangladesh Fair to show proof of their COVID-19 double vaccination on the day, either in a digital or paper-based form, along with approved identification if not using the ServiceWA app unless exempt.
Visit https://www.wa.gov.au to see information on getting proof of COVID-19
Please be advised that BAAWA designated COVID Safety Marshal and Security Guards will be functioning on site and there will be dedicated entrance/s to get access to the venue and unfortunately all individuals (for those aged 16 and older) will require to show proof of COVID vaccination, unless exempt. I urge you all to support us to make it easier therefore; we can come up with a successful event.
Please also be advised that BAAWA has the next upcoming event International Mother Language Day (IMLD) program on 19 Feb 2022.
Venue: Cockburn Youth Centre
Address: 25 Wentworth Parade, Success WA 6164
Time: 6:30pm to 10pm
Please come along with your family and friends, keep an eye on COVID -19 updates and follow the checking requirements of indoor venues and we will keep posting and keep you all in the loop.
