GATE Crash Course: Math, Pattern Recognition and Abstract Reasoning
Appolo Academy is holding a workshop on mathematics, pattern recognition and abstract reasoning
in order to prepare students for the GATE test.
Date: 23rd January – 31st January
Time: 9am – 12pm
What: One-hour practice test, followed by two-hour discussion of questions everyday
The focus will be on reinforcing existing knowledge of the topics for high-ability students who are preparing for the GATE test.
Topics covered:
Mathematics:
– Fractions, area and perimeter, volume, ratios, percentages, units of measurement
– Chance and probability, combinations, data analysis, distance, time and speed, profit and loss.
Pattern Recognition:
– Identifying visual patterns in a series of images.
– Identifying arithmetic and alphabetical patterns in a series of numbers or letters.
Spatial and Abstract Reasoning:
– Identifying analogies between two sets of words (A is to B as C is to D).
– Interpreting representations of 3D object patterns.
