Subject: Congratulation and nite of thanksDear all,
Please join me to congratulate the Management Committee of BAAWA for producing and presenting an excellent programme under the dynamic leadership of BAAWA’s current President Dr Mahbub Talukder to celebrate the 47th Victory Day of Bangladesh last night at the Lynwood Wandarrah Hall, Edgewater Street, Lynwood
I thoroughly enjoyed every item including the patriotic songs which were displayed with excellent dances by various performers. These songs reminded me of those dark days when we didn’t enjoy the liberty to listen to these songs publicly during the Liberation War in 1971. We listened to many of these songs broadcast by the Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra secretly at the risk of being caught and then tortured to death by the Pakistani Army.
One special feature of last night’s prgoramme was the participation of the younger generation to make it a huge success. They and their parents deserve a very big thank you from us. I would also like to congratulate Dr Tanmoy Deb Nath (Cultural Secretary, BAAWA) and his team and to all other participants for presenting such a lovely event to our community to commemorate a very special day in the calendar of Bangladesh.
Another interesting feature of last night’s programme was the presentation of a short drama by the Pathshala Bangla School (PBS) performed by its students. The drama was developed, produced and directed by Ms Sharmistha Saha (one of PBS’s dedicated teachers). It was quite a challenging and daunting task for Sharmistha given the age of the participating students ranged from 3.5 years to 11years (!) within a very short span of time. However, in collaboration with the parents of the students, Sharmistha did an excellent job which is evident from the positive feedbacks that this drama received from the audience. Her husband Mr Biswajit Saha extended his helping hands to her during the rehearsals. On behalf of the Management Committee of the PBS, I would like sincerely thank Sharmistha, Biswajit, the participating students of PBS and their parents for contributing to this item.
The above are my personal view and there was no intention hurt anyone. However, if I have offended anyone please forgive me.With warm personal regards,
Abu Siddique
