Subject: Community views/ feed back on the draft registration template
Dear member of Bangladesh expatriate community,
Hope this email finds you in good spirit. In order to be better connected with the Bangladeshi expatiate community in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji, the Bangladesh High Commission strongly feels the imperative for an updated data base. We are delighted to circulate a draft registration form for your kind views and valuable suggestions/opinions. The purpose of the registration, inter alia, are:
- to create a mechanism to facilitate engagement through disseminating information about the activities of the Government and the High Commission, important notices and invitation to various events organized by the High Commission etc.
- to render various welfare services to the community.
- to access skill/knowledge/expertise of the community members for the programs in Bangladesh, if so needed.
More so, there is a legal requirement as stated in the Bangladesh passport that all Bangladeshis intend to stay abroad for more than three months shall have to register with the nearby Bangladesh Embassy or High commission. They are also required to renew their registration every year. This present effort is also expected to facilitate this.
02. Please note that strict confidentiality will be maintained about information provided in the registration form and will not be shared with any other entity.
03. We look forward to receiving your views on the form by 14 September 2018. We will finalize the template based on views received from you. The registration process will then commence.
Nahid Afroz
First Secretary
Bangladesh High Commission, Canberra
