যে কোনো মহামারী বা দুর্যুগ কালে মানুষের জীবন আর মৃত্যুটুকু যেন লটারির মতো দৃশ্যমান । আল্লাহর ইচ্ছায় কেহ বেঁচে গেছে আর কেহ চলে গেছে ।যে চলে গেছে সেতো তার আমল নিয়ে মাবুদের দরবারে উপস্থিত এবং তার আর কোনো সুজুগই নেই তার আমলে বাড়তি বা উত্তম কিছু করতে কিন্ত যে এই মহা দুর্যুগে বেঁচে গেছে তা তার জন্য বিরাট বোনাস বা ‘এক্সটেনশন অফ লাইফ‘ । সেই ভাগ্যবানদের এই বাড়তি জীবন টুকুতে কি করা উচিত ???
– আবারো নিজ কর্মে যোগ দিয়ে দুর্নীতির পাহাড় গড়া ?
– আবারো নোংরা রাজনীতি আর গড ফাদারদের পদহলেহন করা আর তাদের স্বার্থে সাধারণ মানুষের মাথায় আঘাত করা ?
– আবারো নিজ হীনো স্বার্থে সমাজের অনাচারের পক্ষে নিজেকে সামিল করা?
যদি তাই হয় তবে ওই সমস্ত লোকদের ভয়াবহ প্রদাহপূর্ণ কলবের জন্য অনেক বড় আফসোস ! অনেক বড় আফসোস !!
তাকে নিজ চক্ষু দিয়ে দেখা উচিত, সারা বিশ্বের এখানে সেখানে সারি সারি কফিনের মিছিল যাদের মধ্যে সেও একজন হয়তোবা হতো বা সামনে হবে কিন্তু সে এখনো বেঁচে আছে কিন্তু বেঁচে গিয়ে সে এখন কি করছে !
হে অপরিণামদর্শী, আজন্ম নাদান ! তুমি স্রেফ ঘুরে এস তোমার বাড়ীর অদূরের কোনো কবরস্তান থেকে, দেখো তোমারই মতো যারা ছিল এই ধরায়, যাদের পাপাসক্ত কলব আর ঘৃণিত লোভের আহত চিৎকারে সদাই রাজপথ ছিল ধুলায় ধুসরিত, যাদের অভিশপ্ত দৃষ্টি ছিল সমাজের সবার ভীতির কারণ, যাদের চায়ের কাপগুলো এখনো নজিরবিহীন বকেয়ার সাক্ষী হয়ে আছে ওই রেস্তোরার কর্নার টেবিলে, আজ তাদের দেহের অবশেষটুকু পর্যন্ত আর নাই যার সবটুকুই চলে গেছে জমিন আর কীটের পেটে আর তাদের নিকৃষ্ট আত্মা সেই জাহান্নামের আগুনে আবর্তিত হয়ে অপেক্ষায় আছে সেই মহা বিচারালয়ের দিনের জন্য !
তারপরও তুমি যদি চাও তাদের দলের সাথী হতে তবে কোনো জিজ্ঞাসা নাই আজ, আর যদি পেতে চাও অনন্ত কালের উত্তম রেসিডেন্সি তবে অনুতপ্ত হয়ে ফিরে এস আলোর পথে, যে পথের আলোতে তুমি সফল আর সম্মানিত হবে দুনিয়া এবং আখেরাতের উভয় জাহানে ।

If I stand under the rain, there is no one on the earth can stop rainfall just above me to keep me out of the rain. But I can keep rainwater out of myself by an umbrella. The umbrella is a science – it does not stop rainfall over me but keep me dry to some extent – this is the limit of human capacity given by Allah, we have named it “Science”.
If we think of a conventional health condition, headache for example, a Panadol can’t remove the pain – rather it numbs the nerve which causes the feeling of pain. Panadol works just like an umbrella. Normal headache comes and goes as usual over time. If it is caused by any underlying problem, doctors address that problem by conventional procedures – either medication or surgery or both. These procedures are like umbrella.
When a cyclone approaches from the Gulf of Caribbean towards Florida in the USA, the super power can’t stop it, rather it takes shelter. The cyclone starts by the command of it’s creator and it stops by His command.
Corona virus is like a cyclone, it will stop when it completes it’s term. We still use science to minimise impact on us by maintaining hygiene, isolating ourselves and so on. But we can’t stop it. That’s why seeking Allah’s forgiveness and mercy is the way – May Allah lighten our difficulties.

A microscopic creature has shaken the mankind as if we are completely helpless.
We are helpless although the politicians are “fighting” against it – it’s their job to say so, let them say. We can’t even defend us from this creature, let alone “fight” – we are just running away from it.
We are running away from it in this era of ‘medicine’, we ran away in the era of ‘no medicine’. We will run away even if we can vaccine 7 billion people in one shot – because every time it appears, it appears differently.
Appearance is different, so it’s magnitude. The better we learn to escape by creating awareness globally, the greater it impacts us by using our globalisation.
Globally we have named it epidemic. It comes, it goes, and we label it as our victory – such a strong mankind!
Mankind always appreciated it’s strength out of arrogance – in the time of A’d, in the time of Thamud, in the time of Pharaohs, in the time of Romans – the strongest of all nations in the human history. We think that we are stronger than ever with the blessings of science and technology. Perhaps we are becoming weaker and weaker with such blessings – we have proven so by fighting over toilet rolls.
Perhaps such epidemic comes as a punishment or as a trial to the mankind. But for sure it is a reminder what Allah reminds us – “And Allah wants to lighten you (your difficulties) and humankind was created weak” [Surah Nisa Verse 28]
Indeed. Humankind is weak. Seeking His forgiveness and mercy is the way to get His help where there is no other help to lighten our difficulties.
