Dear Perthbashi Bangladeshi Community,
Good Morning.
You may know that Pathshala Bangla School (PBS) commenced its journey in 2010 under the patronage of the Bangladesh Australia Association of Western Australia (BAAWA) with the aim of encouraging younger generation Bangladeshis to understand, cultivate and preserve Bangla language and culture. We strongly feel that while living in Australia, our children will face very few issues in relation to learning English and in assimilating to Australian values, culture and traditions. However, our challenge as first generation Bangladeshis is to keep them in touch with Bangladeshi language, culture and traditions. The establishment of PBS is an attempt to counter this challenge. While the school is run by a handful of dedicated teachers, parents and members of its management committee, PBS’s sustainability and survival in the coming years will very much depend on support from the wider community. The most important factor for keeping the school alive is to attract and retain a critical number of students in the years ahead. On behalf of the Management Committee of PBS, I would like to appeal to my fellow Bangladeshi community members to come forward and support the school to the best of your capacity. I would especially like to request parents of younger children to enroll their children in PBS. I am pleased to be able to say that PBS is well-equipped with highly educated volunteer teachers, an experienced Management Committee (MC) and the necessary teaching resources and lesson plans to be able to provide the children in our community with an excellent educational experience.
PBS organizes an Open Day each year to showcase its activities. This year’s Open Day will take place on Sunday, the 24th of June at the Canning Vale Community Centre, Cnr of Waratah Blvd and Eucalyptus Blvd, Canning Vale, from 3.00 pm – 5.00m.
You are cordially invited to attend this event. Our dedicated School Registrar and volunteer teachers including the School-in-Charge will be there to meet and greet you and briefly explain the mission and vision of the PBS. They will also be more than happy to assist you to enroll your children if you wish so.
In case you miss this event and wish to enroll your children at PBS, please contact the registrar of the School Mr Mafizul Islam on 0427420165 or email to him at Mafizul Islam Mafizul.Islam@watercorporation.com.au.
